I am back from my skiing holidays, now. The weather was ideal (snow and sun). I uploaded only one pic because the photos all are blueish and I had no time yet to edit them. And now:

Tactica - let's go

Hi,

I received my copy of the Tactica rulebook today. I do not want to play Warhammer ,,Skrimishes'' and Mini-Battles or DBA simulator battles only. Tactica seems to bring me large battles, with small but accurate rules. I will play it with the WAB Bases because of compatibility and to find more other gamers willing to play Tactica !

I posted about my long weekend one week ago, now I have to announce:
Including today I have free until the second monday next year !

Because of the weather (eg snow chaos) I can stay at home today and tomorrow, additionally to my normal free days.

From tomorrow unti the day before christmas,there will be no updates, because of my skiing holiday.

New project - DBA MIR

Last Sunday I bought a Roman army in 15mm. Its a Middle Imperial one and I will base them for DBA. The army should be historical correct around 200 BC errr... I mean AD. The shield design is from Veni Vidi Vici.

long weekend started just now

Hi folk,
Because of the snow chaos here (pictures will be uploaded soon) I start my weekend today, I'm not going to work the next three days. Instead I will read a lot and paint miniatures, maybe I will start a WAB game tomorrow !!

Soviet WIP

 

I buyed some WWII russians on ebay some weeks ago and Weapons from TAG came last week, so I am able to show your my first neo-soviet in WIP. I gave him a modern shotgun instead the Ppsh and a AT-4.

I used some new Andrea colors and found the modell just fine now. It is not painted at the highest standard but should work quite well for lovely games.

The modell is from BTD ,well detailed and fun to paint. They Soviets will be used for FoA, too.

weekend walk

Some weeks ago, in the fall, I was walking to the Justinusfelsen near Adolfseck and Lindschied.

At the way there was another historical site namely ,,Alte Schanze'', It was probably built in the thirty years war and is a systeme of ditches and holes. It was build at a bifurcation from Mittleage and Roman roads and paths. There you can watch the hole Aartal and you can fire at a pass from Westerwald.

 The hills are very steep so the Schanze needed only some men to control the whole area.

At the end I came to the Justinusfelsen were are Roman inscribed his name in a quarry probably he was a legionary at the limes. Because the quarry is just 200m away from it or he was quarry worker.

In the Middle my first Early Imperial Roman Legionary Cohort and on the right a lot of caesarian command from my earlier projekt.

Hi,
I recently finished the RAFMiniatures (A really matching name for a producer of terrorists). I liked the multi parts because you can build a lot f different poses with just one pack. I tried some different techniques to paint black, in my opinion the best and a simplest is to paint them in dark grey and simply wash them. So they look black not grey and flat. The photo is not optimal and I will upload a better later.

The miniatures bases are M8 zinc plated 2,5 cm in diameter. I recently bought a pack of a hundred.

Orange Task Force squad Leader

I made a new photo of my Orange Task Force squad leader to show him in the right light.  He is armed with a HKMP5 or HKMP7 like most of my SWATS. His base shows the afghan battleground and is the standard size of bases in our FoA- Fields of Afganistan games.
I think he will do his job well and kill those ******' terrorists:-).

Today I found a old post I wanted to view you in the summer but forgot and post it now.

I was on a Roman milefort in Rettert. The limes there is called Obergermanischer Limes.

It was never totally excavated and you can see the structure of the small fort very well.

I painted a Prototype of my Legionnaires, normally they will wear iron helmets.
